Carl-Ramsden
Carl Ramsden has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Sella Controls, the UK- and Ireland-based subsidiary of HIMA Group, bringing with him more than two decades of international leadership experience across the industrial and technology sectors.
Ramsden’s extensive background includes senior roles in a global chemical company and a major automation systems manufacturer. His work across both manufacturing operations and end-user environments has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the industrial value chain and the strategic demands of modern automation and safety technologies.
As CEO of Sella Controls, Ramsden will assume full responsibility for steering the company’s growth, strengthening its technical capabilities, and guiding its regional and global expansion efforts. He will work alongside Chris Parr, Chief Technology Officer, and Eddie Turnock, Commercial Director. In addition, he will take over the responsibilities previously held by John Blackwell, who will retire as Chief Financial Officer on October 31, 2025, following many years of distinguished service.
Jörg de la Motte, CEO of HIMA Group, welcomed the appointment, saying:
“We are pleased to have Carl Ramsden step into this important leadership role. He is a highly experienced executive with proven expertise and a thoughtful, steady management style. His leadership will accelerate our growth in the industrial operations and rail sectors in the UK and Ireland while supporting HIMA’s broader global strategy to expand its presence as a leading solutions provider.”
HIMA Group officially acquired Sella Controls in February 2023 after a long-standing partnership. The integration process progressed smoothly, with unified IT systems and centralized management structures established in a short timeframe. Today, Sella Controls serves as HIMA’s regional hub for the UK and Ireland and as a global Centre of Excellence for rail solutions, employing more than 130 specialists across its facilities in Stockport and Ashby.
